Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch a new line of electric vans, including a luxury model for the U.S. market. The company has given a sneak peek of this upcoming van, which promises to be more advanced than the previously discontinued Metris. Mercedes-Benz is aiming for a launch in spring 2025.
These new vans will be built on Mercedes’ VAN.EA modular platform, which was introduced last year. This platform will serve as the foundation for all future personal and commercial vans, offering a versatile range of wheelbase lengths and battery capacities. Customers will have the option to choose between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, based on their preferences.
Mercedes has also reiterated its intention to introduce a mid-size luxury van designed for personal use. While specific details are limited, the van is expected to be highly adaptable, with configurations that cater to high-end family needs, executive shuttling, or even limo-style setups for ultimate comfort.
Earlier this year, prototypes of these vans were seen in testing, heavily camouflaged. Mercedes has hinted at a complete lineup launch in 2026, showing the company’s strong commitment to transforming the electric van market.
