Putin accused the US and its allies of enforcing rules that constantly change for their own convenience, claiming that those who do not comply are targeted through hybrid wars and containment strategies. He specifically mentioned the US “pumping” Ukraine with weapons and military advisers to provoke conflict and weaken Russia.
The Russian president also accused Western nations of using Russia’s responses to instill fear among their own citizens, while warning that continued military support for Ukraine and Nato’s increasing presence near Russia’s borders would force Moscow to retaliate. Putin emphasized that Russia’s armed forces are being equipped with modern weapons, referencing the revised nuclear doctrine that allows for the use of nuclear weapons in response to threats to Russia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
