GWM Offers Discounts on Cannon Ute Before New Model Launch
GWM is rolling out special offers for its Cannon Ute (also known as the Ute Cannon) as it prepares to release an updated version in Australia early next year.
From now until December 31, 2024, or as long as supplies last, GWM Australia is giving private buyers a $2000 discount on the entire Cannon Ute range, while ABN holders receive a $1500 bonus.
The starting price for private buyers is now $34,490 drive-away for the base Premium model. This is $4500 less than the price before August, making it the most affordable dual-cab ute available. Better-equipped models are up to $6000 cheaper than before August, with prices for all models under $47,990 drive-away for both private buyers and ABN holders.

These price cuts follow a recent campaign where GWM offered three complimentary services for most models, saving ute buyers $980. This promotion ended last week.
In September, it was reported that all Cannon Ute models, except the Cannon-XSR, had their braked towing capacity increased from 3000kg to 3200kg.
The Cannon Ute is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, delivering 120kW of power and 400Nm of torque. It features an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels.
All models sold in Australia come with a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
GWM plans to launch an updated model in the first quarter of 2025, featuring a more powerful 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine with 135kW of power and 480Nm of torque. It will also have an enhanced braked towing capacity of 3500kg, matching competitors like the Ford Ranger.
GWM seems to be standardizing the name of its ute, which is currently referred to as the Ute, Ute Cannon, and Cannon Ute. In its latest release, GWM has simplified the name to just “Cannon,” which many Australians already use, as all existing models include “Cannon” in their name.
