The outgoing president has criticized Biden’s actions, warning that they could escalate the conflict and make it worse. He has promised to end the war between Ukraine and Russia quickly in his second term as president, although he has not outlined his plan to do so.
Trump stated that he will speak to both Ukraine’s President Zelensky and Russia’s President Putin to bring an end to the war, expressing his distress at the images of conflict. He emphasized the need to stop the fighting and acknowledged the devastation in towns that have been heavily impacted by the conflict.
He also mentioned being shown distressing images of battlefields littered with bodies, drawing comparisons to the American Civil War. Trump’s efforts to end the war and bring peace to the region are ongoing.
