President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh for their support in Azerbaijan’s accession to the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization. This decision was announced in Cairo and signifies the strong friendship and collaboration between these nations.
The D-8 was founded almost 30 years ago on Turkey’s initiative, and this is the first time that the organization has decided to expand. President Aliyev is proud of this achievement and promises to work diligently with other member countries to promote the organization’s growth and enhance Islamic solidarity.
