Michael Jordan’s Iconic Chicago Mansion Finally Sells After 12 Years.
After more than a decade, Michael Jordan’s famous Chicago-area mansion has finally been sold. The property was originally listed for $29 million in 2012 but closed at $9.5 million, as shown in public records. This final sale price is also lower than the last asking price of $14.855 million in 2015, which was chosen based on numerology to match Jordan’s legendary jersey number, #23, which is also displayed on the estate’s gates.
Known as Legend Point, the mansion in Highland Park serves as a homage to Jordan’s illustrious career, featuring unique elements like doors from the original Playboy Mansion. Spanning an impressive 56,000 square feet on a 7-acre property, it’s described as “as legendary as His Airness himself,” showcasing his dedication, hard work, and signature style throughout.

The mansion boasts nine bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, and luxurious amenities such as a putting green, a tennis court, a cigar lounge, and a full-size basketball court.
Despite the lengthy wait for this sale, Jordan had already secured a new property back in April, purchasing a mansion in a gated community in Jupiter, Florida, for $16.5 million, making it his second home in that area.
The buyer’s identity remains undisclosed. Transforming the mansion from its custom Jordan-centric design to something less personalized may be challenging, possibly explaining why it remained unsold for so long.
Jordan originally acquired the lot in 1991 during his prime with the Chicago Bulls, investing approximately $50 million to create Legend Point to his exact specifications. The result is a truly unique and recognizable celebrity mansion.
