The Cars
This race is going to be electrifying. We’re putting the insane McLaren Senna against the more accessible McLaren 765LT to see which one is faster.
Both cars have similar engines. The Senna, made mostly from carbon, is about 30kg lighter than the 765LT. However, the extra drag from its large wing might slow it down.
McLaren Senna
Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the Senna delivers 588kW of power and 800Nm of torque. It features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
Its top speed is an astonishing 335km/h! Although it officially goes from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds, it might struggle for traction on our unprepared airport runway.
McLaren 765LT
With a top speed close to 330km/h, the 765LT is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 563kW of power and 800Nm of torque. It also uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with launch control, delivering power to the rear wheels.
It has the same claimed 0-100km/h time of 2.8 seconds, so this race is going to be tight!
Results
Let’s check out the results. It was an incredibly close race, but the Senna’s extra drag seemed to slow it down a bit. Both cars showed immense power.
Keep in mind that the race was on an unprepared surface, making it even more challenging for these high-power cars to gain traction at the start.
