Play the Red Light, Green Light Game on Google
Squid Game, a South Korean survival horror series, surpassed all expectations when it debuted on Netflix in 2021. It became Netflix’s most-watched show, amassing 1.65 billion hours of viewing in its first month. The much-anticipated second season is set to premiere on Netflix on December 26th.
Knowing it has a major hit, Netflix is pulling out all the stops to remind viewers about Squid Game Season 2. Apart from being featured as one of Netflix’s new virtual fireplaces, you can also play the iconic Red Light, Green Light game from the show’s first season.
To play, simply type “Squid Game” into Google Search. Along with the usual show information, you’ll spot a floating box with a circle, triangle, and square. Click on it, and the Red Light, Green Light game will start right on your search page, as shown above.
The game controls are straightforward. You control a line of people and must decide when they move forward and when they stop. Press the blue circle button to move them and the red cross to halt them. The goal is to get all your people to the finish line without being caught by the ominous, large-headed puppet.
My One Complaint Is That It’s Too Easy to Beat
I have to say, I enjoyed playing this game once I found it. I even spent a good hour trying to get my little people to the finish line. However, it feels too easy. The game offers so many visual and auditory clues about when the doll will turn around that it’s nearly impossible to fail.
The only time I messed up was when my people were near the finish line but hadn’t crossed it yet. The temptation is to keep them moving after the doll turns around, but she notices everything. Doing so means you’ll lose people right at the end and fail the challenge. If you succeed, though, you’ll earn cash for the show’s massive piggy bank.
