The Christmas season has arrived, and there are plenty of ways to get into the holiday spirit. One classic way is by watching a Christmas special on TV. A Charlie Brown Christmas is a timeless favorite. Previously aired on broadcast TV for decades, it is now exclusively available on Apple TV+.
If you’re disappointed that this beloved tradition is now on a streaming platform, don’t worry. Apple is offering A Charlie Brown Christmas for free to everyone for a limited time, so you can enjoy it without a subscription. Apple TV+ subscribers, on the other hand, can watch it anytime.
How to Watch A Charlie Brown Christmas for Free on Apple TV+
On December 14 and 15, anyone with an Apple ID can watch A Charlie Brown Christmas for free. If you own an Apple device, you already have an Apple ID. If not, you can create one for free without needing a credit card. Once you have an Apple ID, here’s how you can watch:
- Through the TV app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- On smart TVs with the Apple TV app.
- On the web at tv.apple.com.
- On an Apple TV device.
Apple also offers other classic Peanuts holiday specials that used to air on broadcast TV. However, Happy New Year, Charlie Brown might not be available for free. If you missed them, you can still catch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on Apple TV+, but they now require a subscription.
Apple acquired the rights to the Peanuts series, featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and other beloved characters. Since then, new Peanuts shows like The Snoopy Show and Snoopy in Space, as well as new movies such as Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10, Lucy’s School, and It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown, have been added.
The Apple TV+ streaming service costs $9.99/£9.99 per month.
