Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies has been a big hit, but the S.A.M. Trial is causing frustration for players worldwide, and many are calling for changes.
As 2024 comes to a close, Black Ops 6 Zombies has made a strong impression. With three outstanding round-based zombie survival maps, it offers some of the best experiences the series has seen in years.
Despite the excellence of the new Citadelle des Morts map, set in a medieval castle, it does come with some challenges.
While Treyarch has addressed fan feedback by enhancing the elemental sword Wonder Weapons, players are hopeful that the S.A.M. Trial will be the next issue to be resolved.
Black Ops 6’s Most Frustrating S.A.M. Trial
On the COD Zombies subreddit, players are expressing frustration over what they consider the worst S.A.M. Trial in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
In case you’re not familiar, S.A.M. Trials can be started on any Black Ops 6 Zombies map for a small Essence cost. Once activated, players are given a task to complete within a certain time frame to earn valuable rewards.
While these trials are generally well-received, a new challenge has sparked significant frustration among fans.
Introduced in Season 1 Reloaded, this challenge requires players to use the new Hand Cannon Scorestreak to achieve a specific number of kills with just a few bullets.
The required number of kills can vary depending on the number of players in your group. In a solo game, for example, you might need to kill 25 zombies with just 10 bullets, which is possible if you already have a horde chasing you.
However, to earn the best rewards, players must quickly line up their shots for maximum multi-kills.
The main problem is that it can be nearly impossible to complete the task within the time limit, especially if you don’t have a horde ready to go.
Not Just Difficult, but Buggy as Well
Even when prepared, players report that their Hand Cannon often appears bugged, starting with only a few bullets.
Unlike other S.A.M. Trials, this one doesn’t replenish your equipment after use, forcing you to craft a new Scorestreak at a Crafting Table for 1250 Salvage or miss out on the rewards.
“They either need to increase the time of the challenge or decrease the kills needed,” Reddit user DaleksGamertag comments. “It’s obvious this one wasn’t well thought out.”
Another issue players encounter with S.A.M. Trials is being tasked with getting kills using a specific Field Upgrade that no one in the group currently has.
In such cases, players can pause the game to switch their Field Upgrades from the menu, but this often requires charging it up before use, which can be impossible without a Full Power power-up.
Recently, Treyarch demonstrated they are listening to feedback by enhancing the elemental swords and resolving some issues in Citadelle des Morts. Hopefully, the problems with S.A.M. Trials are also on their agenda.
